Apple over the weekend has sold more than 4 Million iPhones. That is about 16 iPhones 4S sold every second or roughly saying around 1,000 each minute. These figures are most likely going to further enhance with the iPhone 4S introduction in 22 more countries on October 24th.
By achieving this remarkable milestone, Apple is spearing head to surpass Microsoft’s Kinect which till date is the fastest selling consumer gadget. According to Guinness World Record, by selling 8 million units in the first 60 days, Kinect is currently the world record sale holder for the fastest-selling of any consumer electronic device in the market. But this Microsoft’s sale of 8 million Kinects in the first 60 days is a number that Apple is expected to surpass in the first two weeks.
According to 9to5Mac , the success of the iPhone 4S is attributed to following few factors:
- The availability on three U.S. carriers: AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. AT&T and Sprint both announced opening day sales records on Friday. The iPhone 4 was only on AT&T in the US its opening day.
- iPhone 4 was released in 5 Countries. iPhone 4S was also available in Canada and Australia in addition.
- iPhone 4 saw serious product shortages while it appears that Apple made plenty of iPhone 4S’s
- There was a longer than normal wait time between the iPhone 4 and 4S
- iPhone 4S is amazing.
